  1. Ever wanted a status page for your project — one place to watch every service and instance, and actually enjoy looking at it?

    I built Velvet — a polished, dark, open-source front-end for #Upptime[1] status pages.

    What you get:

    • live uptime and selectable history (24h to 1 year)
    • IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack monitoring with status pills
    • auto-generated social cards for clean link previews
    • incident feed straight from your GitHub issues

The best part: it runs entirely on GitHub Pages and GitHub Actions. No servers, nothing to maintain. The Actions do the monitoring and redeploy on their own, so your status page keeps itself up to date automatically.

All driven by a single config file. No code. Built with Svelte 5, free and MIT-licensed.

Have a look at a real Live demo, the template repository and the project itself.

  3. The verdict on #Upptime is – cool solution, but too expensive as a private solution. Good for monitoring the status of the #OpenSource sites with everything running in the public repo. #DevOps upptime.js.org/

  5. @alex
#Upptime (upptime.js.org) is the open-source uptime monitor and status page, powered entirely by GitHub Actions, Issues, and Pages.

  6. @ian No worries here - I expected it was something like that. I did end up wondering, though: is there a status page URL for communication in the event of a major service outage? Something like status.phpc.social (or even on a different domain entirely, in case DNS is the problem)?

Looks like the main commercial providers I know of wouldn't help with the communication side of that, but perhaps this would: github.com/upptime/upptime #Upptime #UptimeMonitoring

  8. @ruari that's auto-generated by #Upptime, unclear if anyone actually looks at it.

  9. #upptime is a nice project for simple, free monitoring of some webservices: github.com/christianhorn/fluxm
