On 8/2/1970 residents in Caldwell, NJ, reported a mysterious "wire" or "silver thread" suspended in the sky above their house, stretching into the clouds & motionless regardless of weather. It was eventually pulled down and analyzed, determined to be similar to nylon fishing line, but no explanation for its origin or seemingly impossible behavior was discovered.

On 8/1/2025, a tractor-trailer carrying hot dogs ripped open, scattering its contents across I-83 and forcing a temporary closure of the highway until the mess could be cleared using a front loader.
