Univention Corporate Server 5.2-7 has been released yesterday - summarizing all the great enhancements we did since 5.2-6 was really fun, the blog article can be found at https://www.univention.com/blog-en/2026/09/ucs-5-2-7-released/
Even though it has no impact yet for users, I really like that we shipped Cerbos as new Guardian backend. While Cerbos is a better fit for the problems Guardian will solve, the shipment has been done as "Container in Deb" which will simplify maintenance for admins and us.

Nubus for Kubernetes 1.22 has been released - the new feature that has had the highest demand was to allow more influence on the compatibility vs. security decision to be made while choosing password hashing algorithms. This is now in the hand of the operator and comes with a more secure default. Details in the Blog:

Toll, Glückwunsch! 🙂
Ich bin nach Jahren von #ownCloud zu #Nextcloud und seit ungefähr Anfang des Jahres zu OpenCloud gewechselt. Die Collabora-Integration läuft, ebenso die Authentifizierung über Keycloak mit einem Univention-LDAP-Backend.
Meiner Erfahrung nach läuft OpenCloud im Alltag deutlich flüssiger als die beiden anderen. Der Einstieg war etwas holprig, das muss ich zugeben – aber inzwischen rennt es ohne Mucken.
Naja, bis zum nächsten Update. 😅
Endlich weg von diesen ganzen Gimmik Apps, Hub-Zeugs das nur mit Updates beschäftigt werden will und Performance frießt.

We will clarify and simplify the maintenance commitments of Nubus IAM (for Kubernetes and UCS) and UCS (as Debian based operating system). To do so, starting with the next minor release of UCS (5.3) we will have two dedicated maintenance commitments.
