@marcoarment Thanks a lot for #unforgetful . I do not know if I have ADHS, but I assume I have a light case but combined with a good ability to ignore reminders (particularly if there are several coming at the same time). For the last week, I am using #unforgetful and it works great!
But there is still one source of reminders, which would be great to incorporate as well (but I do not know if this is even possible): the email reminders. I use them a lot, and it would be brilliant to have them in #unforgetful, even if it is only read only!

Okay, i'm sold. I have been for the longest time thinking about developing an app that makes my brain remember things, one riddled with ADHD that somehow can on the one hand build things beyond my own expectations of myself, but on the other, cannot for the life of me remember to go shopping before the fridge is empty, or do boring but important things like filing accounts and keeping on top of taxes.

Then @marcoarment released #unforgetful and now, thank god, I don't have to roll my own (of course, this is itself a thing that I constantly forget I was meant to be doing and so it never got done anyway).

Apparently my brain works the same as Marco's. And thankfully it does, because this app seems to have solved a situation I have been living with for, well, my entire life. It also allows me to pull down the inscrutable mess of hacks I'd built in Notion that sometimes, maybe, got me here, but not always.

Turns out there is an app for that. And it's this one.

As an obsessive reminder CLI user for years I’m trying out #unforgetful on iOS. What I was hoping for is the same sort of fast “throw everything into a pile and ensure you don’t lose any of it” that the reminder command line tool has.

It is good at dumping lots of tasks into it and not losing track of them, which seems to be its primary function. However I really struggled with “is this worth a yearly subscription”? It is a very barebones app right now.

Things like “customize your notification system per to-do list” which seems like something I would kinda expect at a subscription level isn’t there. I’m also not clear where the app grows from here. It’s effectively Apple reminders app but you cannot lose track of something in it.

For example I like location based reminders. It makes sense to make some of my lists location based. I don’t need to know about shopping reminders until I’m in the store. However that’s not something this app can currently do (or at least I can’t see how to do it).

So it’s hard for me to recommend as is to to-do addicts like me. It’s possible that these things get added, but since Apple still doesn’t have upgrade pricing somehow in the App Store I can’t risk that I’ll forget I have this subscription for years to come.

@csteiner Ja, habe ich. Ist schon eine Weile her aber aus der Erinnerung würde ich sagen, dass die Konzepte sehr ähnlich sind. Mir hatte Due damals zu viel Optionen und Möglichkeiten, die ich nicht brauchte und die mich deshalb eher aufgehalten haben. Ich bin mit UX (und UI) nie wirklich glücklich geworden.
Und ja, #Unforgetful fehlen jetzt wiederum zwei, drei Dinge, die ich gerne hätte. Aber das mag ja noch kommen. Für den Moment gewinnt es für mich, weil „weniger ist mehr“.

Die neue App von @marcoarment, #Unforgetful, die aus unerfindlichen Gründen nicht #Overtask heißt, ist ein wahrer Segen!
Seit Jahren probiere ich praktisch jede To-do-App aus und noch von keiner habe ich mich so sehr verstanden gefühlt wie von dieser!
