Spell - Wretched Heart

Gleich zu Beginn spielen die Kanadier ihre Stärken aus. Mit einem komplizierten Rhythmus durch das Schlagzeug beim Opener, unterstützt von einem Synthesizer und den Gitarren, serviert die Band Spell den Hörern Breitband-Heavy-Metal der 80er-Jahre-Schule. Dann rocken die vier Jungs eingängig weiter. Soundmäßig werden der Synthesizer und die Gitarre in Balance gehalten. Die Aufnahme hört sich knackig an, Gott sei Dank, nicht cheesy. Schön, alle Instrumente sind zu hören, das gefällt mir. Bei den Cover hatte ich die Musik mir kauziger und dröhnender vorgestellt.

Spell - Wretched Heart

Right from the start, the Canadians showcase their strengths. With a complex drum rhythm in the opener, supported by a synthesizer and guitars, the band Spell serves up broad-spectrum heavy metal in the 80s style. Then the four guys continue rocking out with catchy tunes. The synthesizer and guitar are kept in balance. The recording sounds crisp, thankfully not cheesy. It's great that all the instruments are audible; I like that. Based on the cover art, I had imagined the music to be more quirky and booming.

Iron Kobra – Eternal Dagger

Steffen (G), Ela (V/G), Matze (B) und Björn (D) sind seit 2008 mit ihren Heavy-Metal-Veröffentlichungen unterwegs. Die Jungs leben in Gelsenkirchen und sind echte Metalheads, geboren aus Kohle und Stahl. Ihr neues Album Eternal Dagger wirkt erwachsen und ausgegewogen. Der Eröffnungssong Trembling Dungeons jagt gleich mit großem Heavy-Metal-Kino durch wilde Screams und rasende Gitarren mit Vollgas durch die Boxen. Nummer Zwei auf der Platte, Forbidden Fruits, betört mit einem Maiden-Gedenk-Riff und einem tollen Solo. Shibuya Nights hat einen wunderschönen Aufbau von den Strophen über die Bridge zum Refrain. Kann ich mir live super vorstellen. So haben die folgenden Songs auf Eternal Dagger immer den Hinhöreffekt. Etwa die tollen Riffs, die tollen Chöre oder ein schönes Solo. Ela hat eine tolle Stimme, Punkt. Die anderen Bandmitglieder beherrschen ihre Instrumente. Eternal Dagger ist eine Platte von einer harmonisch gewachsenen Band. Klasse.
