Tην ανησυχία της για την αύξηση των θανάτων μεταναστών που προσπαθούν να φτάσουν στην Ελλάδα μέσω θάλασσας, εξέφρασε η Ύπατη Αρμοστεία του ΟΗΕ για τους Πρόσφυγες (UNHCR). Όπως αναφέρει σε σημερινή της ανακοίνωση 17 είναι οι νεκροί μόλις τον Νοέμβριο. Ανησυχία προκαλούν επίσης τα δύο ναυάγια της τρέχουσας εβδομάδας, με τις ελληνικές αρχές να αποδίδουν την αύξηση των αφίξεων στον πόλεμο στη Μέση Ανατολή.
Η UNHCR σε σημερινή ανακοίνωσή της δήλωσε ότι 17 άτομα έχουν χάσει τη ζωή τους αυτόν τον μήνα, ενώ ο συνολικός αριθμός των θανάτων φέτος ανέρχεται σε τουλάχιστον 45.
Περίπου 56.000 άνθρωποι έχουν εισέλθει στην Ελλάδα από την αρχή του έτους, κυρίως μέσω θαλάσσης, αριθμός που αποτελεί τον υψηλότερο των τελευταίων πέντε ετών και που έχει ήδη ξεπεράσει τις εκτιμήσεις της κυβέρνησης για 50.000 αφίξεις μέχρι το τέλος του έτους.
«Την επείγουσα ανάγκη για μακροπρόθεσμες λύσεις και ασφαλέστερες και αξιόπιστες εναλλακτικές λύσεις» για τους ανθρώπους που φεύγουν από τις συγκρούσεις, τους διωγμούς, τη βία ή τις παραβιάσεις των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, τόνισε η εκπρόσωπος της UNHCR στην Ελλάδα, Μαρία Κλάρα Μαρτίν.
«Η καταμέτρηση των ζωών που χάνονται στη θάλασσα δεν μπορεί να γίνει κανόνας – δεν πρέπει να το συνηθίσουμε», είπε.
Η υπηρεσία των Ηνωμένων Εθνών ανέφερε ότι τα δύο ναυάγια της τρέχουσας εβδομάδας, κοντά στη Σάμο, στην ανατολική πλευρά του Αιγαίου, που βρίσκεται κοντά στην τουρκική ακτή, οδήγησαν στο θάνατο μιας μητέρας που έχασε τρία από τα παιδιά της, ενώ ένας άλλος επιζών έχασε τη γυναίκα και την κόρη του.
Οι ελληνικές αρχές έχουν αποδώσει την αύξηση των αφίξεων μεταναστών φέτος στις συγκρούσεις στη Μέση Ανατολή, αναφέρει στην ανακοίνωσή της υπηρεσία.
Υπενθυμίζεται πως το θέμα των πολύνεκρων ναυαγίων με θύματα μετανάστες, είχε φέρει στην Κομισιόν και η ευρωομάδα του ΚΚΕ με ερώτησή της. -
