I am struggling to understand why my gp thinks I need statins.
Total lipid 5.2 mmol/L (above 5.0)
Triglycerides 1.13 ( 0.0 to 1.7)
HDL 2.13 (at least 1.2 but no upper limit on their range)
LDL 2.6 ( below 3.0)
Cholesterol/HDL ratio 2.4 ( below 6.0, optimal below 4.0)
Non HDL 3.07 (below 4.0)It appears to me that the only marker putting me above a total of 5.0 is my HDL, and there isn't an upper limit on their range for that?
Any ideas?
