The reason why LMM doesn't know what a tuffet is, is because she is a fictional character. She doesn't know anything. She doesn't even exist.

The truth is...Little Miss Muffet had no idea what a "tuffet" was even though the term was used in her eponymous nursery rhyme to describe her posture.
