@chrisnelder Just finished the #TransitionShow South Africa mini series.
Phenomenal job of unraveling the chaos to craft a coherent narrative.
You nailed it with “when you scratch the surface you realize how complex basically any issue in SA is” and you correctly saw that everything is warped by the legacy of apartheid.
My surprise is not that you told a great story (we take that as read) but that you were able to select from what surely must have been many.

I wrote a post about this a while ago.

The guy's name is James Brown (https://www.linkedin.com/in/james-brown-a856a7114/) and he and his colleagues developed the Common Smart Inverter Profile.
There's [another] awesome episode of the Energy Transition Show about South Australia and their feed-in progress.

@chrisnelder The developing Spanish/Portuguese/French outage may be a perfect opportunity to post about the utility of the grid-forming infrastructure being deployed in the UK.
Seems like many people are starting to understand the need for grid stability services like inertia, frequency stabilization and of course, black start capability.
Thanks to the Transition Show, I have a passing understanding of these matters.
