#TrailFire north of Crater Lake Oregon.

When the map opens it shows heat detections from the MODIS and VIIRS satellites. The map has many more fire related #GIS layers you can turn on/off/restack. Only the ‘top’ layer is clickable to see attribute data.

B13 reporting the copters knocked down about 95% of the fire. No active flame, just smoldering hotspots. Forward progress stopped at 1-1.5 acre and water around the fire.

Just for fun, this is La Jolla Canyon in September, where the #TrailFire is located. Accessible via vehicle normally (some talk on the fire channels about a bridge being out, however).

DIV11 calling it 2 acres in heavy fuels with a moderate rate of spread based on what is observed on OES cams. IC reporting its gonna be a air show with crew support, also asking for the Coulson helitanker out of LA as well. Pic below
