the new tractive cat tracker is disappointing;
- seemingly no wifi support, so power saving zones don't work, hence battery life is worse (even though it's advertised as better)
- the integrated collar blows! the weight setting keeps changing every time i take it off the cats, and sometimes when i put it on.
- gps performance is noticeably worse (previous one would report even when inside the house, this one doesn't)

So, fast fertig. Die wichtigsten Apps sind installiert. Dieser Tröt kommt schon aus LineageOS. Mail, Kalender, Navi, Nextcloud, Syncthing, KeePass, .... alles ohne GAFAM. Wie man mit Signal mit mehreren Geräten arbeitet muss ich noch rausfinden. Spannend wird auch Online Banking.
Und ärgerlich ist, dass #Tractive zwingend Google-Dienste will. Wenn mein Hund weg läuft, brauche ich ein gegoogeltes Handy um ihn schneller zu finden. Grmpf. -

She didn’t return at all until late Thursday night, but I was ready for her. Or at least The Child was, with strict instructions from me, as I was at work.
The Child stuck a #GPS tracker on her collar, and after eating another 4 pouches of food, she disappeared again. Only this time I was at my desk watching the tracker on my phone.

I’m testing pet tracking devices (GPS) for a product review and discovering that our fairly hyper, neurotic 15-year-old male Calico cat (yes, he’s a genetic rarity) travels two miles a day. He touches home base every 30 minutes or so, then shoots off to a different neighbor’s. The mapping pattern looks like a dahlia blossom.
