On the #debian side, I finally managed to fix a few problems with the autodir package.
As always, that triggered some changes at the upstream level (me incidentally) here:

One day or another, I should definitely release a handful of recent and not-too-recent changes...
At the same time, it is a pity that #TLDP with Autodir-HOWTO (and many others) is practically dead.

@lattera every line of code and new algo or what have you can have provenance and confidence rating as well as tell you exactly what is happening - all the metadata, they have the resources to own and they do interdiction and camp out for years #manpage #tldp #documentation #metadata #katie sstam #ft meade

Whenever I get in the weeds the #tldp usually comes to my rescue being from 1998 however it's not able to clearly tell me what is going on. However the dissection of the RFC is pretty rad https://tldp.org/HOWTO/Multicast-HOWTO-2.html
