On the #debian side, I finally managed to fix a few problems with the autodir package.
As always, that triggered some changes at the upstream level (me incidentally) here:

One day or another, I should definitely release a handful of recent and not-too-recent changes...
At the same time, it is a pity that #TLDP with Autodir-HOWTO (and many others) is practically dead.
