i'm an organ donor (used to be almost expected for motorcyclists) and feel pretty ok about it but to be honest i know nothing about laws/guidelines/protocols that regulate the industry

i'd expect that if i had viable tissue it would be used in an emergency transfer situation that more or less correlated with the time of my death but the idea there's a company who harvests every bit of viable tissue that is preserved and sold at a later date (as my donor's apparently was) is kind of sickening, though that probably makes me naive in the extreme
