If you're interested in the electronics: I originally had it on a #raspberrypi 4 running batocera and this worked almost perfectly, but the one thing it can't do is play the later generation lightgun games like Time Crisis and CarnEvil.
So I upgraded to a Del Optiplext 3050 with an I5-7500 I was able to buy second hand for 50 euros.
The actual controllers are an EZ-Start kit which is probably the easiest to do. I cut the panel for the arcade buttons with my home-made V1E lowrider CNC.
