Aber so schön Continuous Memory auch ist – neue Programme muss man dann halt doch mühsam eintippen und verliert die alten. @dl2jml Thanks! Unfortunately, I‘m afraid that just cleaning might not solve my card reader‘s problem. The most recent problem seems to be that the motor doesn’t stop and the display doesn’t come back on again after the card went through. 🤷‍♂️ #ti59

While checking when the first hand-held digital calculators became available I found this article which describes the process by which they were developed at Texas Instruments.

I was particularly interested because I once used a #TI59 to do the costings for all products at a Fiberglass factory, not long before the first desktop computers came out.

The photograph at the end of the article shows a close image to the TI59 I remember.
