The #SlideRule, like the #LogBook, is probably as useless as the #PocketCalculator, today. But I am obsessed with those relics, even in the face of modern 64-bit and 128-bit CPUs.
I hope, in a couple of decades when I'm six-feet-under, people still appreciate those CPUs as we do the slide rule.

Aber so schön Continuous Memory auch ist – neue Programme muss man dann halt doch mühsam eintippen und verliert die alten. Da sind die Magnetkarten des TI-59 zum permanenten Speichern (und schnellen Laden) von Programmen doch schon ne Ecke praktischer, denke ich … 🧐 – Hast Du Deinen 58C noch? #TexasInstruments #ti59 #ti58c #calculator #pocketcalculator

Today I found out that 1 divided by 9 and after multiplied by 9 (1/9*9) is a calculation that most pocket calculators can't give the correct answere to, it should be equal to 1 but on my pocket calculator is equal to 0.9999999. I suspect it's because they don't have enough digits precission to give me the correct answere and that's just me guessing why it is. Even if IDK the answere to why it's happening it's still interesting.
