@DJDarren Have you done a higher education #ThePlaylist yet? I was just thinking that you could have this and Chaise Longue “I went to school and I got the big D”.
-
As I pack up for my tromp up a couple of hills tomorrow, a thought for a future #ThePlaylist, perhaps: Mountains.
...And also I think the DB might be down. I'm getting a pretty picture of a tree, instead.

@DJDarren Hello, for my #ThePlaylistSuggestion tracks this week on the theme of "skint", I'm unashamedly going back to a couple of 1980s "blue-eyed soul" Top Ten hits.
- Money's Too Tight (To Mention) by Simply Red. I know, I know. But despite everything this is an absolute stormer of a song, and Hucknell's voice is simply astonishing here
- Alternatively (or also!), Love Of The Common People by Paul Young. Again, a song that's perhaps become too familiar through overplay, but it's glorious.
Of course they're both cover versions so you could also play the originals, but for my money these versions are the best.

Well, I've only gone and set up a ruddy bloody form page on my site. So if someone (unbelievably) doesn't use Mastodon, they can still suggest tunes.

Now, how to let non-Mastodonians know about it...

Do YOU want to be known forever more as an Eternal Aoife?
Then join #ThePlaylist's Patreon and assume the title. You'll have to share with a couple of others, like, but you can wear it with pride.

All you get for your tithe is knowing that you're dead cool like, and that you're doing to your part to help produce The World's Most Radio Show. And really, for what more could you ask?

NEXT WEEK ON #ThePlaylist, the theme is brought to you by none other than @swisslet, who wants to hear YOUR suggestions about being:
Broke. Skint. Strapped. Brassic.
Two hours of tunes about poverty. What could be more cheerful in *this* economy?
Fling them this way using #ThePlaylistSuggestion and together we'll build the ultimate radio show about having no cash. We'll be cash poor, but radio rich!

CW: Spoilers for this week's edition of #ThePlaylist
This week's tunes, in case you couldn't understand me what with your shatner's basoon being all on the wonk.

Behold the glorious return of #ThePlaylist!
This week we have another guest theme, this time from @RealAleRocks and Ben Gray, who are colleagues who work in a:
Pharmacy
So two hours of songs about having to wait for an hour because the pharmacist has just gone on their lunch break, and only being able to buy two boxes of paracetamol, despite there being nothing to stop us also going to the Tesco Express next door to buy two more, should we so choose.

There's some tremendous Can chat in the TheChat right now.
#ThePlaylist -
I decided not to play the FAT remix of this one.
#ThePlaylist -
This is very, very firmly in my top three tonight. Magnificent stuff.
#ThePlaylist -
The drumming is absolutely fucking magnificent. I think Greg Eklund could have taken something. Dunno what, mind.
#ThePlaylist -
In an episode crammed full of tunes I adore, this is probably my most adoriest, I think. I've loved it for 31 years, and, my enlarged heart notwithstanding, I will love it for another 31.
#ThePlaylist -
It's a testament to how good this tune is that I picked it over Time Baby III by Medicine, because anything from The Crow soundtrack is an immediate choice for me
#ThePlaylist -
I pulled rank and suggested this one, because not one of you buggers did. Useless.
-
I can't possibly suggest why, but this week's tunes are somewhat rockier than most weeks.
-
I don't think the Good Champions of #ThePlaylist are going to the same kind of pharmacy as I do.
-
This songs means something slightly different over here in the UK.
-
She invented the medicinal compound, doncha know?
-
I am listening to #ThePlaylist live (a rare occurrence for me) but I'm not going to lie, I think I'll also Late Kate it like usual.
I have been spoiled by always listening to this in the car on the way to/from work, with the Good Speakers turned up loud. My laptop is a bit of a feeble music-singing machine in comparison.
-
I won't lie, I still love this tune. It's very silly.
-
I don't think you can just wander into a pharmacy and demand a new drug. That's not how they work.
