I had a taste for Desperados and we coupled it with "The Gray Man" from 2022 because it felt like the right choice for a beer movie. It's a spy action flick, something between James Bond and Mission: Impossible, full of incredible scenes (like a tram chase in Prague). Ryan Gosling plays his usual character and it was fun, but it only showed me that those movies are not for me anymore. We might still see a franchise here. The hooks are there (like the invisible boss).

Watching #TheGrayMan on #Netflix. And I can see why it got meh reviews but it’s got a solid cast. And I’m always up for Chris Evans playing against type.

Yep, I like it! But she doesn’t for some reason 😅

It’s a nice, simple action movie, and the main character has an interesting backstory. They could have handled it better, but that doesn’t make it bad.

Watching Netflix's The Gray Man. It's very stylish violence lacks a heart.

It reminded me of Matthew Reilley's fiction - I call it "Captain Captured". Our hero goes from one scrape to another with little with zero character development. The John Wicks and the later Bournes are good examples.

Exciting thriller with lots of inedible fight choreography and delightful character notes throughout. Additional fun is @ChrisEvans’ work as a deliciously infantile villain who could also double as a stand-in for Freddie Mercury.

This makes me want to visit Croatia and Prague. When I do, I will keep away from the Czech public transit, however.

I thought #TheGrayMan was absolutely fine. Not amazing. Not terrible. A 4/5 movie which was nicely ironic, pretty well made, and a perfectly decent brain-off Saturday night action movie.

I don't get what all the critical annihilation is about.
