We had 16 people of our friends over today and I made Persian kebabs. The key to getting them to not fall off the skewer is to taper them at the ends. Over half the people here were immigrants. The most dramatic thing that happened was when our cat got out and was chased around the house by three dogs. The weirdest thing that happened was that my partner decided that putting on Incantation was a good idea for BGM. Luckily the 10yo had her back turned towards the screen while the first five seconds of the movie was showing pure body horror (think multiple row of teeth) before we turned it off. Before the day was done, we successfully taught one of our friend's children #TheGame. Everyone left full and happy.

Queen (1980)
Today marks the exact anniversary of the release of The Game, their eighth studio album.

CW: #TheGame (1997) #JacobsLadder (1990)
What could have saved #TheGame would have also ruined it: making the ending a #JacobsLadder scenario where the party is a moment-of-death hallucination after he jumps off the building and the hacks/thefts/deaths were all real.
As it stands, it's a movie that should be great but is...meh.

Having tinnitus is like playing The Game. Every time you think of it, you lose. 🙃
Except that now I seem to have turned mine into a personal sound bath. For 10 years, I've gotten lost in the high pitch squeal, it was so painful! I covered the sound at all times. 🎧
Now I can affect it, turn it into a sound bath in my imagination. This alters the tone, makes the sound a temporary pleasure - instead of the monotonous, overwhelming, never-ending existence within that vibration.

While everyone was going radio ga ga (see what I did there? 😁) over “Another One Bites The Dust” off this album, 15 year-old nerdy me was air jammin to Brian May on this one. Now, 61 year-old nerdy me is doing the same on deck.

I'll love you, baby, I'll love you forever
I'm trying hard, to stay away
What made you change, what did I say? -

BMD-130.

Was Socrates the inventor of negging?
"When I heard him say this, I turned to Hippothales, and was very nearly making a blunder, for I was going to say to him: That is the way, Hippothales, in which you should talk to your beloved, humbling and lowering him, and not as you do, puffing him up and spoiling him."
From the Dialogues of Plato
