Perfect sunny day to be proofreading the galleys of #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 Plays Dead, third book in the series, to be published in January. I use GoodReader on my iPad, marking up with a Logitech pencil – the closest I can get to the old days of printouts and red pen 👍

Popped into the wonderful Imagined Things bookshop while in Harrogate today – signed copies of #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 and the Brigitte Sharp thrillers are now in store!

Love visiting local bookshops! Yesterday, just under the wire before the end of National Crime Reading Month, me & JM Hall went to the wonderful Truman Books in Farsley. We even met a lovely greyhound, Joe 😍 Signed copies of #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 are now on their shelves

Popped in to see the lovely people at Waterstones Piccadilly and sign copies of #TheDogSitterDetective and #TheDogSitterDetectiveTakesTheLead 🐶🔍

The progress counter makes it look like I’m further along than I really am, to be honest. Around 10,000 words of this needs a complete rewrite, as several plot points have changed quite a bit since I began drafting. But that’s normal, and every day still brings me a little closer to the end… #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍

(“Deadly rival” is only a working title; this is book 3, but I don’t yet know what the final title will be)

Another good day on the third #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 book, finally cracking 20,000 words. So far so good, though I can feel in my bones that I'm about to hit some story knots…
(I'm not doing NaNoWriMo, but if I was at least I know I'd have hit my daily word count 😂)

CIAO! 🇮🇹 The Italian edition of #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 (titled in translation as ‘A Wedding, A Crime, and Two Four-Legged Investigators’!) goes on sale tomorrow. New colours, but still using David Wardle’s lovely cover art 😍

Speaking of writing, I got a solid 1,000 words of #TheDogSitterDetective 🐶🔍 book 3 written today, and I'm just at that stage where I have solid ideas about where the story will go, but no idea if I can actually pull them off. Believe it or not, from an author's POV that's very exciting 😅
