My least favorite commercial of the year was a uber commercial using landslide in apparent forgiveness of white dad who made it all about him in an argument. And mixed race daughter hugging him outside his door in the rain hated it so bad I stopped watching tubi during christmas first week of January. #FrightClub #TheDevilsBackbone

I’m currently watching The Devil’s Backbone for the first time. I saw many of its props in 2017 at the Guillermo del Toronto Cabinets of Curiosity show. It was my favourite exhibit of all time, and I went to see it several times. I’ll share my observations in this thread, hiding stuff in case you haven’t seen it yet. #GuillermoDelToro #TheDevilsBackbone #movies

It was my favourite exhibit of all time, and I went to see it several times. Del Toro's "The Devil's Backbone" had been on my watchlist for years. Finally available on Prime and I was not disappointed. A wonderfully quiet, profound & heartbreaking #horror drama that uses the orphanage as a microcosm to draw a strong metaphor for the Spanish Civil War & Franco's regime. Good and evil are skilfully juxtaposed here, showing how easy it is to switch to the opposite side when circumstances (such as war) force the individual to do so. Strong.
