  1. Yazvitsky's 1812 verse translation of "The Lay of Igor's Campaign" — long thought to rely on Shishkov's prose — actually borrows heavily from Siryakov's obscure 1803 version. My textual analysis reveals dozens of identical phrasing choices, unique epithets, and even whole lines. A case of early Russian literary appropriation, with Siryakov conspicuously uncredited in Yazvitsky's preface.
