New post: a work trip to Tbilisi, Georgia.
I ordered the salmon on the flight out. I have seen Airplane!. I knew better.
My luggage skipped the connection, was later booked onto its own direct flight with a confirmed seat, and had a materially better travel day than I did.
Also in here: a sixth-century monastery still standing on its hill, very good Georgian wine, and a tour of an A380 during which I touched absolutely nothing.

Quick Tbilisi urbanistic degradation made by panic decisions of incompetent people:
🚸 Liberty Square — crossing removed, fence welded shut. New crossing 50+ meters off the natural line, forcing an extra 80 meters walk; cars can't see pedestrians due to the road curve.
🚴 Kazbegi — bike lane and bus lane erased.
🛣️ Kazbegi/Kavtaradze — safety islands dismantled.
Looks like a panicked reaction to Rustaveli traffic closure — but each decision is a serious safety failure on its own.
