  8. The first thing #russians always did after the #occupation of a certain territory was to destroy the culture and language of the local indigenous population.

    After the deportation of #Crimean #Tatars in 1944, russia tried to erase any mention of them in #Crimea. 560 rural libraries and 861 school libraries were destroyed and burned.

    860 Crimean #Tatar schools were closed.

    Many different manuscripts have also disappeared. Their fate is unknown.
