  8. 😳😒

"As #Australia's big #superannuation groups prepare to unveil yet another year of solid, if not spectacular gains, it's worth noting the returns have been driven by what many perceive as a rapidly inflating bubble centred around one key issue: #aiSpending

The top 10 titans have attracted more than a third of all cash thrown at the NY Stock Exchange, a top-heavy profile that has outdone the tech boom of the 1990s and the burning fever evident just prior to 1930."

  10. I've been having a battle with my super fund since they sent me a barely comprehensible letter a couple of weeks ago, which told me my insurance premium was increasing, but not by how much.

I've now made I think 5 requests for them to tell me how much the increase is and each time, after a 2-3 day wait, they find a new reason not to just tell me.

This morning I asked them to send me the information I need to close my account and transfer my balance to another fund. They were very prompt in getting that back to me in a couple of hours.

Any recommendations for a smallish member-owned super fund? I have one in mind but happy to look at others.

Now Labor tweaks super concessions for the ultra wealthy and suddenly it’s “class war”, “economic vandalism” and the end of civilisation.

  18. AustralianSuper CEO Paul Schroder drops the quiet part out loud: calls for cheaper homes are basically 'nonsense' because our entire banking system — and economy — is underpinned by ever-inflating house prices.
We've spent 25 years pouring all our extra wealth into real estate instead of productive investment. The 'house' always wins.
Time for a serious rethink? Or just more super-funded band-aids?

  20. The escalating war in the Middle East is rattling global markets and hitting Australian superannuation funds hard. Sharp falls in share prices, surging oil costs from attacks on energy infrastructure, and rising inflation fears are all weighing on retirement savings. Experts are urging members not to panic: super funds are diversified across shares, bonds, infrastructure and more, built for the long haul. Advice? Stay patient, avoid knee-jerk switches to cash (which can lock in losses), and remember history shows markets recover—patience usually pays off. Keep an eye on your options, but don't overreact.
