  2. @therightarticle I was astonished. We think of Singapore as being modern and advanced but if they don’t get themselves organised they’re going to find they are being sanctioned by other countries for not pulling their weight in the climate crisis.

    A national #strandedasset

  3. Singapore is an advanced nation with one of the highest GDP per capita in the world. So their manual workers have air conditioned vehicles to transport them.

All fossil fuels too and pedestrians are seriously marginalised. If they don’t change course soon #singapore will be a National #strandedasset

  4. @Cassman @janrosenow don’t think so. Singapore has no manufacturing of any sort and their penetration of electric vehicles is almost nil. Their electricity generation is 99% fossil fuels and the economy is based on oil refineries but they don’t have any oil of their own. They are one of the wealthiest countries in the world and could easily finance a transition, but there does not seem to be any political will.
    I think they’re about to become a national #strandedasset

  5. @kim_harding @clarkiestar somebody ought to tell the highheidyins in Singapore. They seem to be all dinosaurs.

I think Singapore is heading to be a national #strandedasset

  6. renewableinstitute.org/the-gre quite remarkable how one of the wealthiest countries in the world seems set on a course to become a national #strandedasset .
Negligible renewable energy and negligible conversion to electric vehicles.
And negligible ambition to change that any time soon.

How long before we start sanctioning countries for not making reasonable efforts to arrest the climate crisis?

  8. Coal in China 🇨🇳 is seeing a multi-year resurgence after years in which the government seemed ready to dial back & ultimately halt coal power construction. Carbon Tracker analyst Sam Clissold discusses #StrandedAsset risk & China's #coal pipeline 🏭 open.spotify.com/episode/6LM1x

  9. Neil Quach: "We've been advocating for #oil companies to invest in a short-cycle production that will lessen #StrandedAsset risk in the #EnergyTransition b/c it lessens the chance you're going to produce oil that will impinge on a lower demand scenario" 📉spglobal.com/marketintelligenc
