I've been eager for the next book in 'The Witness' series, its called "No Life Forsaken".
I loved the 'Malazan Book of The Fallen', returning to this rich world is a welcome experience! Steven's experience as an anthropologist/archaeologist makes his world building strong and characters feel like they belong. Can't wait to purchase this book, probably tomorrow!

I'm finishing up #stevenerikson 's *The Bonehunters*, and I feel like I've been racing down a narrow winding mountain road in a car without brakes.
His books wrap up amazingly well. Dude can write.

As I'm reading through *The Bonehunters*, halfway through #stevenerikson 's #Malazan books, I found that pausing every now and then, and scanning https://malazan.fandom.com/wiki/Malazan_Wiki for reference on whichever character or place dominated a passage I just read, gives me additional enjoyment. It also helps me keep events and characters straight in my head.

An unexpected side-effect as I read through the last couple of hundred pages of *Midnight Tides*, is that I have the urge to pay off and destroy all my credit cards.

#stevenerikson not only writes beautifully, he plans things out like a Master.

Many #fantasybooks authors write great, epic battle scenes.
But #stevenerikson in my opinion stands out.His talent is to communicate so much empathy and investment in the characters, that by the time a battle starts you are so emotionally engaged that you hear what the characters hear, taste and feel what they do.

Got home from work, ate some reheated leftover pizza and had a beer, and I'm now relaxing, having dived back into #stevenerikson 's *Memories Of Ice* while #JeremySoule 's #Skyrim soundtrack blares merrily.
Life is exactly as good as I'd hoped it'd be.

I know it's fiction, but it got me all emotional and shit, more so the second time around reading it.

It's my second read-through of #StevenErikson's #Malazan books.
They are so much more enjoyable this time around! I can enjoy the language and the plot points without the manic "wait, what the fuck, who was that, what is she " pauses of the first time.
About a third of the way through *Deadhouse Gates*, when the ship appears (enough said, no spoilers if you haven't read it), I got actual physical goosebumps while reading through.

So I "discovered" #DimmuBorgir recently, and I just really really dig the whole "Huge-Symphonic-Death-and-Hell-and-BGRHAAAAAH" thing that they have going.
As I'm back on reading #StevenErikson's #Malazan books now, the Black/Death Metal lads are a wonderful accompaniment.
