My ethical core and #StepZero of #derad have a premise that I would deeply love to refute.
And I welcome attempts to refute this theory.
Most think, eg, people choose to pursue power, then decide to inflict pain on others and self.
But the reality is that the choice for that path to power is merely a fig leaf on the choice to inflict pain on others and self.
Because power achieved without infliction of pain is possible, and in fact is preferable.
