"Jazzman" is a 1974 song performed by #CaroleKing, from her album #WrapAroundJoy. King composed the music for the song, while #DavidPalmer (formerly of #SteelyDan) wrote the lyrics. The song is best known for its lengthy #saxophone solos, performed by #TomScott, while King sings an ode to 'the Jazzman' and the effect he has on her. #CurtisAmy, saxophonist, composer, and former musical director for the Ray Charles band, was the 'jazz man' of the song.

Surprised and charmed to read on Wikipedia that Denny Dias, the bearded Steely Dan guitarist who did the sitar solo on "Do It Again," later worked on the database programming language Clipper. (He dropped out of comp sci at SUNY to be a musician.) Skunk Baxter, meanwhile, got into consulting for the US military.
