Alma-chan Wants to Be a Family! Episode 1 Impressions
Swear Alma is rocking Amazon echo devices on her head. o_O
The show was pretty cute and endearing, and looks the part as well. Nothing amazing animation wise though.
Honestly I doubt I'll keep up with this weekly, but could be a binge watch in the future.

I finished 9 shows from the Spring 2025 Anime season, so I finally put some quick thoughts together of each show.

Food For The Soul Episode 1 Impressions
Well well well, back to back Cute Girls Doing Cute Things anime shows.This one with college girls and food, so let's go!
I think I like this just slightly better than Mono. Food is always a plus in my book. Also I like to see a CGDCT anime with college age students.
I liked how bright and colorful the restaurant is when Mako goes in. As an introvert, Mako just speaks to me. Especially when she overthinks the situation and ends up almost missing out because of it. Been there!
Yeah, I'm definitely watching more of this one.

Mono Episode 1 Impressions
I love Laid Back Camp, so I was excited for this adaptation of his work about a photography club and its members.
It is definitely scratching the Cute Girls Doing Cute Things itch this season. The humor is on point. So far the photography parts have been a bit limited, but hoping it gets down to really showcasing it more.
Unless this completely nose dives in the coming episodes, this will be a must watch for me just based on my love for Laid Back Camp.

A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof Episode 1 Impressions
Oh damn, I didn't realize this was a SHAFT production. The presentation is great!
Oh this is a slice of life comedy anime... *Ninja gets brutally stabbed with her own kunai and dies*. Well that was unexpected... IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
This is a bit more violent than expected, yet still funny and colorful. Still can't say I'm completely sold just yet, but definitely watching a few more episodes to make up my mind.

The Shiunji Family Children Episode 1 Impressions
The show looks pretty good, and I like the character designs, especially of the sisters.
Based on the twist about the siblings, this is going to turn off a lot of people. Went in to a situation where siblings are not actually related by blood, and now we got a harem anime.. LOL
The sisters make me want to give this show a chance, so I'll see how the next 2 or 3 episodes go.

Makina-san's a Love Bot?! Episode 1 Impressions
2nd ecchi show of the day, and 2nd 12 min show as well. Well no censorship of Makina's chest.
Character designs for the girls are good enough. Nothing great though, and the animation is barely decent enough for an ecchi show. They censored the lower regions, but they're at least being more strategic with it.
First episode was more setup than comedy. It's not terrible, not good... It's serviceable for what it is. I'll give it a couple more episodes to see if it gets funnier

Yandere Dark Elf Episode 1 Impressions
They censored the male MC nipples with steam. That's a bad start for an ecchi show. Lol. They censored the elf's parts too... With steam outside the bath.
The characters are better than I expected. More enjoyable than plus sized Elf was at least. And at 12 minutes an episode, it doesn't overstay it's welcome.
BUUUUUUUT what's the point of a censored show that's all about the ecchi. There's no point in watching this as is. Guess I'll see if there is an uncensored version out there.

From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman Episode 1 Impressions
Been reading the light novel of this one, and it's been entertaining. So far the show looks alright, And the character designs are nice, even if they aren't as good as the light novel designs.
First episode is all setup of Beryl moving to the city and introducing some of his former students. It's been about as good as the light novels are so far, which is about all I wanted. The sword fight scene was done well.
I'll be watching this one weekly, as I tend to do with light novel adaptations I'm actively reading.

Summer Pockets Episode 1 Impressions
The show looks average, nothing amazing here. The characters so far are boring.
I tried to find something to pull me in, but I just can't find anything about the show that makes me want to watch more. I usually love adaptations of Key stuff.
I think I own the visual novel, so maybe I'll just play that first, then revisit the anime at a later date.

Kowloon Generic Romance Episode 1 Impressions
I love the 90s aesthetics in character designs and artwork. It makes me nostalgic in that sense.
As for the characters and story, it's so far interesting. It just hasn't hit that spot where it has clicked for me yet. The ending sets up an intriguing mystery for the show.
May need a couple more episodes to decide if I want to watch or not though.

Witch Watch Episode 1 Impressions
I had no clue what I was getting into with this series. I laughed out loud so many times. The humor so far is right up my alley. The characters are really fun too.
It looks really nice too. i love the character designs too.. Nico is adorable!
Looking forward to more of this series!

Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive? Episode 1 Impressions
I enjoyed this first episode. It did a good job of setting up the friendship between Yu and Himari. Yu's a solid male character with a passion for his jewelry creations. Himari is a fun female best friend who wants to support Yu's dream.
The show has some good animation, and the comedy was entertaining. I just hope whether the chooses lovers or friends at the end, it feels natural and not forced.
I'm not sure if I'm in to watch weekly yet, but will be watching a couple more episodes.

Rock Is a Lady's Modesty Episode 1 Impressions
Had no clue what to expect coming in to this one. This show is so pretty. I like the MC already. Her trying to put up a front, then seeing the moments of her stressed out and feeling relief are funny.
i don't like the CGI animation for the instrument playing though. It's a jarring contrast to the normal animation look. It's so much stiffer in movement too.
Lol the final scene after the rocking out scene was hilarious. :aquajiji:
The show shows a lot of promise with the characters and music. I'll peep a few more episodes before making a decision to watch weekly or binge later.

The Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows Episode 1 Impressions
Been waiting for this one, as I really enjoy the light novels.
The anime starts off differently than the light novel. They showcase the cast before delving into Zeno's backstory. In fact I don't remember much if any of this first episode happening. Lol
Show looks pretty good both character and animation wise for a studio with so little work under their name.
I'm not complaining, it's an interesting change. Hoping they don't change too much though. Gonna be one I keep up with weekly.

The Beginning After the End Episode 1 Impressions
First thing I noticed is while the character design is pretty good, the animation is not. A lot of moments of characters not moving and just in static poses or scenes.
Also this first episode feels crazy similar to Mushoku Tensei's first episode. Not sure I can say too much based off this first episode though. Gonna have to give it a couple more episodes for sure.
