  5. Walk over Muckle Moss yesterday, one of the best bogs / mires in England, and very rich in different types of Sphagnum mosses. The one slowly taking over the pool is I think Sphagnum cuspidatum; the tightly packed mound of red is Sphagnum capillifolium #northumberland #hadrianswall #sphagnum #moss

#Sphagnum rocks! #histnursing #histmed #histpharma #Moorbewirtschaftung 🌱

  8. Oldham water quality improved by volunteers planting moss theoldhamtimes.co.uk/news/2418 #Mosstodon

"#DovestoneReservoir volunteers are celebrating after planting their one millionth #sphagnum moss at the reservoir... The #moss can trap more than 20 times its weight in water, making the landscape more resistant to fires and #drought... The planting programme is part of a wider ambition to restore the landscape around the reservoir, which has suffered from humans cutting vegetation since Neolithic"

  11. #Botany from #BWCA2023 #Canoe Trip

Several different categories here: flowering plants, #moss, #lichen and ????.

We saw the "transparent spittle" thing in several places. One hint is the #sphagnum #moss. After the trip I realized it might be a #SlimeMold.
