  1. #soupposting

Carrot, potato, onion and red lentil soup with like just oregano.

    It's fine.

  2. Day 4 of documenting what I eat.

So haven't posted for a few days and that is because I have had trouble sleeping and I think I might be either depressed, anxious or sick. Haven't left the house in 2 days. Awful.

I didn't get to sleep until 10AM today which is insane.. had like 4 hours sleep.. afternoon was a complete blur.

Anyways.. had two microwaved grilled cheeses and just made a soup from scratch.

  3. Update on the soup. Apparently carrots need much longer at 185 than butternut squash. Fortunately I can hold it at that temp until both are ideally done. Unfortunately I’m eepy 😂 #soup #soupmaking #soupposting

  8. Making some chicken soup today and because I’m extra, I’m cooking the beans, vegetables and chicken separately at different temperatures with the beans on stove, the chicken in the sous vide at 155. Then I’ll do the vegetables with the beans at 185 and add the chicken back in. #soup #soupmaking #soupposting

  13. Made soup. Potatoes, carrot, onion, peas, pearl barley. Herbs were coriander, garlic powder and oregano.

I messed up and kinda over cooked the veg cus I should have added the pearl barley sooner lol.

I'd not have red lentils so I used pearl barley... don't know why I thought they would have the same cooking time 😅

  14. What the fuck?

A few minutes ago I got a spoon out to try some and then lost it.... I thought I put it in the sink so I got a new spoon out.

I go to spoon the soup into the blender and... MY GAWD... I made the spoon into the soup!! XD

Whole different meaning to "soup spoon".

Idk how I did this at all. Bruh i am losing it 😭😅😂

    Soup is fine btw.

  15. Found a piece of bread I made a few days ago. I bread was fine but after a few days it goes stale(??) And normally I microwave it to freshen it (??). But I crumbled it and added it.

It was just simple bread but I remembered a vid about hardtack and how it was used ect ect and during wars ww1 and earlier. It was used in stew alongside otherstuff and it essentially just made it thicker.

Cus hardtack is hard it needa soaking a lot so having it in soup was a good way of eatting it.

  16. Cumin and oregano actually do pair together somehow. Trust me I did like 4 seconds of research.

Now I'm thinking I haven't added enough stock now, on account for all the red lentils I threw in lol.

Oh no they expanded way more than I thought i guess. Who da thunk.

  17. *thread of me making soup, which defo should not understood to be a call for help ;)*

Did not measure out the corn and I'm thinking i didn't add enough. This is just corn, onion and garlic (and salt) atm.

Accidently added the sweetcorn wayy too early lol.

Didn't look enough so I just added all the lentils I had.

  18. Making soup with onions, garlic, frozen sweetcorn and red lentils.

It's probably gonna be mostly red lentils and sweetcorn and idk how that gonna be.

Onions are making me sneeze like wut lol

  19. and now for something a little different, namely #soupposting

if you have a favorite vegetarian recipe for soup which is based on ~1lb / 500g dried beans of any kind (the standard small bag size in American supermarkets), please share!

I have dry pinto beans, black beans, navy beans, great northern beans, and chickpeas on hand. and I need to do something with them!

I'm still workshopping a black eyed pea #soup recipe with collard greens, I'll share that when it's perfect.

    boosts appreciated!

  20. Making big soup for the week.

    Veg
    Potatoes, onions, carrots, parsnips, garlic.

    Herbs
    Thyme, sage, parsley.

  21. Carrot, potatoe and onion soup cus I'm basic as hell.

    Also made croutons.

    #soupposting #food.

  22. Soup!

2 broccoli stalks, most of a swede, 1 potato, 1 onion, 1/3 garlic.

Herbs in various portions I forgot:
Mixed herbs, parsley, garlic powder, thyme, sage.

It was fine. Oo I do this thing where I now blend 3/4s of 2/3s and leave the part chunky.

  23. Made celery and lentil soup which turned out actually okay.

My sister said it tastes like chicken soup :P

Was gonna make just celery and onion soup but I now like lentils fsr.

    - An entire celery.
    - two onions
    - 200g of lentils
    - oregano
    - chives

Looks super creamy because of the lentils. I did blend like 2/3 of it.

  24. Made soup. Seems to be all I'm doing now lol haha (kill me).

    - Onions (that were sorta going bad)
    - 400g of sweetcorn (frozen, added towards end)
    - 100g of red lentils (dried and from refill store)
    - sprig of rosemary (from my garden)
    - pepper
    - salt
    - 1.5L vegetable stock.

It's good.. I need to add sweetcorn to soups more cus they nice and also super cheap if brought in one of those bulk freezer bag things.

Tbf this could have been make with 0 fresh ingredients. Simple.
