CW: Snotty nose stuff
Mind blown by the pharmacist today. Leaving this here for anyone who suffers from hay fever, allergies, sinus problems etc like I do.
The pharmacist, not my regular one, explained how to use this nasal spray I've been prescribed. I rolled my eyes - who doesn't know how to use nasal spray right??
"Right hand, left nostril; left hand, right nostril," he said. "You have to cross over to get the angle right. If you go same side, it just goes down your throat. You want it in the sinus." How was I never told this?!

Maybe sickness? Maybe could be allergies...from I dunno what would it be...goose pollen or....moon dander from the eclipse.
Sitting at work, I suddenly had a sniffle fit under my N95 mask. Had to pack it up, hand over and head home.
Covid negative so far.

I had the #sniffles this morning, but I probably won't by tomorrow; and I think I saw god.
This is my unsolicited endorsement for #alkalol, which is like sending your best team outfitted with flamethrowers +10 into your sinuses to fuck shit up until morale improves.
Yes yes, you can dilute it or get the less-intense nasal spray, sure. OR you can pour a few teaspoons into your neti pot and have a germ-eradicating 60-second drug trip, emerging clean and sobbing and victorious. Your choice :)

when my nose bleeds I try not to move. frozen in space and time on the edge of a dream. silence and blue lights. capillary crime scene. failed Time Lord, I watch a red drop fall to my pillow in slow mo. not the good sheets! then I spring into action, innocence lost. shuffle to the bathroom, commune with toilet paper. I win the war but lose the battle. the good sheets no more.

Darkness hung over me.
At the intersection flashlights roved back and forth.
I could hear their calls.
Calls for me.I was so close now.
Nineteen steps to salvation.
But one sniffle was all it would take.
One sniffle or misstep and the whole world would fall.
A sense of déjà vu hit me as I ran for the break between flashlights.
I counted as I ran. 5.
How many times had I done this before? 12.
Just two more steps and

These red eyes are not for you,
These tears were not your making.
Ignore my tissued sniffles too,
The sobbing breaths I'm taking.
The hay fever I never had,
But always knew was waiting,
Has come and it is just as bad,
As your bitter leave taking. -

the good stuff

jolly good fellow

rousing her crew
