I have been very good over the past month working on this project once a week. It usually takes me an hour to do each release and, last night, I finished #SnarkySAL's #blackwork #embroidery Gothic Valentine project while watching episode 2 of Poker Face. Just in time!
I am thinking of getting an ebony-stained hoop to frame and hang it. It was a nice, low-commitment, fun project. I will probably line it with black cloth and finish it with some black felt. 💀🦋🌙✨⏳

I rewatched "Glass Onion" last night while putting down the first stitches for two of my planned #blackwork #embroidery projects.
One is the #SnarkySAL Gothic Valentine SAL, which releases once a week on Tuesday for the next six weeks. The first part was released today, so I dove into it! I am trying to stitch with recommended thread lengths, which are super short for me. I'm trying to break the habit of using really long threads, so my stitches look better. 😅

Over the weekend and yesterday, I managed to complete three of my #blackwork #embroidery projects!
I completed the year-long #SnarkySAL of rainbow hexagons. I learned a lot over the past year and it was so enjoyable! In 2023, there is a Gothic Valentine SAL I have the materials to start on.
I also completed the Advent Snowflake! Quick and fun.
Lastly, I completed my triptych doiley while watching "Glass Onion". Look forward for pretty photography of all three. 😁

Hey #blackwork #embroidery folks! Feedback request!
Tomorrow, I finish my #SnarkySAL project, when the last hex will be released. I decided to frame it in a hoop; after measuring, I opted for a 16" hoop. My project in the 16" hoop feels kind of crowded to me, so I tried the 18" hoop and I think it looks better. It *barely* fits, so I will need to add fabric in order to finish it correctly in an 18" hoop. Here is my almost finished piece in 16" & 18". Which looks better?

I stitched up three more hexagons in my #SnarkySAL, including the penultimate hexagon. One more to go, to be released this coming Saturday. What a delightful journey this #blackwork #embroidery stitchalong has been! I plan on framing it in a single large hoop when it is complete.
The rainbow colourway is so pretty. I am thinking of using it for 2023's botanical SAL, where the colour is going to be the floral element highlight. 🤔

Weekend #blackwork #embroidery:
1. #SnarkySAL hexagon 45, four more to go! I saw this pattern as small baseball diamonds when stitching, now I see the "chainlink fence". Very pretty!
2. Caught up with the #TheSteadyThreadHoliday2022SAL charity Baubles! These go quite quickly. Next year, repurpose for ornament gifts?
3. Last week's #TheSteadyThreadSAL garden plot. I love this blue variegated thread. Two more to go!
4. Doiley progress after I corrected the outer ring. 😅

My weekend #blackwork #embroidery was primarily done while watching the #AgeOfEmpires4 Winter Team Championships qualifying matches. (Yes, I watch eSports.)
1. I finished last week's botanical #TheSteadyThreadSAL garden piece (week 46). Only 3 more weeks to go! Then I get to consider if I should put a fence around it. There are optional design additions to the pattern.
2. #TheSteadyThreadHoliday2022SAL November 16th baubles.
3. #SnarkySAL Week 44 hexagon. 5 more to go!

CW: Unintended penises in #embroidery 🤪
That moment when you realize that a portion of the pattern in your #blackwork #embroidery for this week kind of looks like a wee penis. 🙈

I had quite a weekend!
I thought I would get much more #blackwork #embroidery done. I got distracted by my SteamDeck. 😅 And ITZY. 🤩 But I will post about those separately. 🤪
I worked on this week's hexagon for #SnarkySAL and I like this crosses/arrows design. It stitched up quickly as I watched episodes of Kakegurui (on Netflix; it's fun & disturbing!).
I thought I would finish the Nordic snowflakes doiley, but I got everything but the outer ring done. So close!
