  1. A really engaging, playful show by Off Brand with Semay Wu at the Fruitmarket Gallery last night. This was part of Ali Robertson & Firas Khnaisser’s TFEH series of experimental music gigs.

Tom Mudd and Rage Thormbones (Mattie Barbier & Weston Olencki) were also fantastic but I wasn’t able to get any pictures of them!

  2. Day 1 Tectonics: great start where highlights included whirling detail from #SemayWu #CarlStone having it large, and incredible wavering near/far panorama from @scottmclaughlin

  3. A couple of highlights of the first day of Tectonics 2023 in Glasgow today:

    1. Carl Stone, with a blood-quickening and visceral set of his own unique sample-based music. Hard to believe he started doing this in the early 1970s at CalArts. What a journey.

    2. Semay Wu, with a playful but also very intense improvised soundscape of many component parts that was just beautiful to watch. The great in the small.
