5. Even if you have one of those travel plugs with multiple points - always good to get yourself a small portable Japanese plug as they do have many charging points on most eateries and longer trains.

3. On #GoogleMaps - if you reach the station and miss the train - click on the “Other departures” link to select the train you’ll be going on so that the stop notification match up with the travel time.
As Japan trains are pretty much on time, even if there are no GPS signal you, the app will give you a good indication of the next station with its algorithm.

1. Should always download an offline map of the area you’re traveling to save on data.
2. #GoogleMaps is better with train stop notifications than #AppleMaps when you’re on the underground.
But #AppleMaps works great when you’re above ground and having Live Activities showing on your Lock Screen is very helpful - when you’re all gloved and scarfed up in winter.
