Deeply, deeply disturbing and frankly embarrassing for #Apple. I have paid 1200€ for my phone, 2000€ for my MBP and several other peripheral devices, pay a premium for services and now I have to endure ads not only in the store (where I spend even more money) but also in the maps application.
I am so, so, so sick of this! #AppleMaps -

*Oh and 3. Actual multi-leg journeys, where you specify one or more intermediate destinations. This is currently supported for driving directions but NOT public transport for some reason, even though many routes are in fact multi-stop! #AppleMaps

This is far too little for most public transport services, particularly when they often run late, or when switching mode of transport; e.g. bus to train, etc. It should be a *minimum* of 5 minutes, increasing to 10 or 15 when ‘allow more time’ is selected. #AppleMaps

Apple is returning to the auto sector as a software supplier after closing its own EV project in 2024. bis vor ein paar jahren, hatte ich listen bei #googlemaps, die ich weitergeleitet habe, um anderen tipps für städtetrips oder reisen generell an die hand zu geben. das mache ich jetzt mit #applemaps. ist sowas nicht auch über das fediverse machbar? oder muss ich mein blog wieder technisch auf den neuesten stand bringen, um ein blogpost per #activitypub hinauszupushen? an und für sich will ich ja erstmal nur ne liste erstellen, weil nicht jeder ort einen kommentar benötigt.

So last night Apple Maps let me down and took me to 10 Hay St rather than 531 Hay St, which is a large difference when you are walking. Here maps had the same incorrect location, but Google maps was correct. The actual address is 10/531 Hay St so I guess you can see where the error was. If you are a #sizzle subscriber, created by @decryption,I have posted on the forum there to ask for any reliable IOS alternatives (https://forum.thesizzle.com.au/t/are-there-any-alternative-ios-map-apps/7052).
The take home is to check the address in Apple Maps if the search target has a website, check Google Maps, or use something else!
