@ASquareClaire I saw a #secondline yesterday too, going upriver on Burgundy, near Mandeville St. It was for a wedding, but had a particularly good band with them. #neworleans is the best place to just randomly run into good music

Just heard a wedding’s second line celebration coming down my block & immediately ran out onto the porch to watch & dance a bit.
Realized that’s a far cry from how I will hide in a dark room at any sign of wandering carolers.
What can I say? Brass bands > Eye contact with strangers 🤷♀️

I’ve been to #NOLA several times - absolutely love it - but I had always intentionally avoided #MardiGras season because #tourists. This spring I was living there for 6 months so couldn’t avoid the #parades, and I learned it’s not about the tourists - these are parties for the locals! And yes, such a blast, but I missed #chewbacchus (work). Something deep inside me just resonates with that place. (And omg: #SecondLine parades - I’d never even heard of them before!)
