Sanchai, Deputy Director of Thai Film Archive, shared that they have received a lot from the wider professional community in the institution's initial founding years. That's why they are happy to give back to the community. One way is by hosting international conferences. Important for the region because no academic institutions or ecosystem - learning on the job and via professional convenings like conference is the only way.

This week I'm at the 30th Southeast Asia-Pacific Audiovisual Archive Association conference in Ipoh, Malaysia. I was contemplating whether to use LinkedIn as the main place to post my conference musings, but somehow the idea of burst of small posts over there doesn't really pass my vibe check.
