Whither Summer Camp?
I suspect that it will be pared back to 2003-2005; one mainstage (Moonshine) and two side stages (Campfire and VIP?)

Umphrey's and moe. will be the main hosts with the usual players chipping in.

What to call it? I would suggest "Summer Sessions" which would harken back to 1999 at Three Sisters Park.

The playing order was moe., Gibb Droll, Galactic, Keller Williams, SCI, Kevin Kinney, and Gov't Mule.

I side with the Dust voters. Dust can give you silicosis, but mud is messy, cold, and deep.

We have lost SCampers in the depths of the Sunshine Stage mud pit in past years.

- Sierra Hull--if you like the Flecktones, you'll love her band. She did a nice cover of Black Muddy River and Stomping Grounds.

(1/2) There are three basic approaches to enjoying a music festival:
- Go to the Music: jump from stage to stage
- Let the Music Come to You: stay at one stage.
- Feel the Musical Moment: a combination of the above.

As a taper, I favor staying at one stage.

One of the advantages of this approach is being pleasantly surprised and discovering "Groups That I Would Definitely Go See Again."

I had two of those this year.

Umphrey's McGee closed the festival with one of their best sets of the festival.

The Don't You (Forget About Me) encore/farewell with moe. was a sad, but joyful look toward the future.

Also be sure to give a listen to Attachments > Booth Love. There is a 7 to 8 minute structured jam between the two tunes that may become its own song.

The moe./Umphreys McGee collaborative set was the highlight of my festival.

I love discovering new bands at festival.

I had never heard--or heard of!--Big Something before Summer Camp. They quickly became a Band That I Would Definitely Go See Again.

My day/night/morning on the Moonshine Stage finished with two sets of moe..

The highlight, of course, was Allie Kraal just ripping it on fiddle for Plane Crash. She also sat in on Ophelia.

This duo (guitar/drums) uses sampling, mixing, looping and layering to create a dense sonic sculpture. it was my first time seeing them.

The band doesn't work off a written setlist and I was woefully unsuccessful in identifying songs despite the use of the LMA and Apple Music. So any help in assembling the setlist would be much appreciated!

Jilian and Bill Nershi along with Jason Hann had a tight set featuring a debut of "Flying" which we are sure to see on String Cheese Incident's summer tour.

The whole set was fun, so it's hard to pick highlights, but I really liked "Honkytonk" and "Smile."

Day 2 started with Umphrey's McGee at the Moonshine Stage, where I would spend the rest of the weekend.

Thin Air was played for the first time at Summer Camp. UM welcomed Kanicka Moore of the Doom Flamingos onstage for What's Love Got To Do With It. Glory > 40's Theme!
