Had a great time today at Viva Calle SJ gathering signatures for #sb63. Lots of good vibes out there, and hopefully more people saw what life can look like with less cars.

On the Bay Area regional transit measure: "A gross receipts tax [rather than sales tax] would ensure that the largest and wealthiest companies contribute their fair share to the infrastructure that helps make their record profits possible. This approach avoids placing an additional burden on families already struggling with the crushing cost of living in the Bay Area." #SB63

And these businesses can afford it: they've just gotten huge Trump tax cuts. At some point, we have to stand up to the bullies and stop doing sales tax for everything. But because a regional ballot measure requires state authorization, we first have to ask our reps to allow us to do a GRT. #SB63

Do you remember what it was like when #VTA went on strike? That was a terrible glimpse of the future if #publictransit isn’t supported in the Bay Area.

#SB63 is a new bill that would create new revenue across multiple counties. Currently, #SantaClaraCounty has not opted in to supporting this bill. Next Tuesday, at 6:00 PM, SCC4Transit will join Transbay and others in rallying to encourage officials to join the measure.
