I grew up watching the World Cup on SBS. It opened a window to the world that commercial TV never could.
Since then it’s given us outstanding journalism, foreign films, documentaries and voices you simply don’t hear elsewhere. It’s one of Australia’s great public institutions.
Now it’s under attack by the usual right-wing culture warriors. I owe SBS far more than I can ever repay, so this is my chance to give something back.
