I just learned that Mikayla Raynes of Saveafox Rescue has died by suicide. 💔 I first found her videos during covid. Her love for the foxes (Finnegan was my favorite) and other rescued animals was so abundant. Her videos were so joyful. Just an amazing human being.
There's an absolutely heart wrenching video her husband posted on the Saveafox youtube. It's hard to watch. He's so brave to speak out and carry on Mikayla's work.

Really Saddened to learn of the death of Mikaela Raines, founder of the SaveAFox foundation and YouTube channel, having taken her own life due to cyber bullying and harassment.
Her videos with herself and the infamous Finnegan Fox and other foxy friends brought much happiness during the covid times and beyond.
Wishing her family, friends and the foundation all the love and support one can from halfway around the world.

One of my favorite videos of #MikaylaRaines at #SaveAFox is of her bathing Oshun, a bambino #cat (sphynx/munchkin mix). Mikayla emphasized that this interbreeding is a bad idea, resulting in many health challenges.

Just learned the devastating news that #SaveAFox founder #MikaylaRaines died by suicide. This video by her widower Ethan is heartbreaking. I'd been watching and enjoying her videos, and had no idea about the harassment and mental health challenges she was facing. She will be greatly missed.

For those not aware, the SaveAFox Rescue does not breed foxes, but rescues them from fur farms or from people who want to give pet foxes away.
It's not perfect but better than nothing. And I would love to see that people stop keeping foxes for any purpose. They are wild animals not pets. Let them be wild.
