Wystające grube wiązki kabli zaburzają przepływ powietrza i psują wygląd wnętrza obudowy. Sapphire Technology podchodzi do tego tematu systemowo, prezentując duet: płytę główną i kartę graficzną połączone nowym standardem PhantomLink. Energia płynie w nim bezpośrednio przez laminat.
Tajwański producent (znany dotąd głównie z produkcji kart, a nie płyt głównych) wprowadza na rynek ekosystem oparty na dedykowanym złączu zasilania zlokalizowanym tuż za tradycyjnym slotem PCIe. W ten sposób zasilanie z zasilacza podpinane jest wyłącznie do płyty głównej (na jej rewersie), a karta graficzna czerpie prąd bezpośrednio z nowego portu.
Rozwiązanie to, w pełni kompatybilne ze standardem BTF (Back-To-Future, forsowanym również przez inne marki), jest w stanie dostarczyć komponentom maksymalnie 600 W mocy. Dla entuzjastów estetyki oznacza to całkowite wyeliminowanie kabli PCIe 8-pin czy 12VHPWR z widoku. Fundamentem nowego ekosystemu jest płyta główna w formacie ATX, oparta na topowym chipsecie AMD X870E i podstawce AM5. Producent zadbał o solidną sekcję zasilania zbudowaną w układzie 16+2+1 (90 A na fazę), co powinno zapewnić stabilność nawet przy topowych procesorach Ryzen.
