Mit „Jackie Brown“ lieferte Quentin Tarantino 1997 einen Film ab, der in seiner Filmografie inzwischen wirkt wie ein zurückgehaltenes, geheimes Juwel. Nach dem riesigen Erfolg von „Pulp Fiction“ (1994) entschied er sich bewusst dafür, keinen weiteren selbstgeschriebenen Pulp-Thriller zu drehen, sondern Elmore Leonards Roman „Rum Punch“ zu adaptieren. Overall, I found it very appealing and quite deeply moving, imperfect and silly as it is.

I truly hope everyone involved intended the 3rd act to be hysterically over the top, because I laughed so hard during the final half hour I had trouble breathing.
