Why are Pidcock and Laporte still chasing, when they're clearly losing time quickly? Because there's a good chance that the pace goes down or a while when the VanDerCar trio eventually catches the front group. And that could mean Pidock and Laporte may still be able to join.

Laporte is doing the sensible thing: I would be nice to get back to help van Aert, but let's have Pidcock do the majority of the work. You don't want to bring a fresh Pidcock back, but a tired one could be acceptable.

This is a very interesting tactical move: Laporte smashing the gap to Pogacar with one big pull, forcing van der Poel and Pidcock to expend all their energy while Van Aert can relax in the wheel.

Blocking the full width of the road going something like 4,2 km/h. We all know this is not allowed, right? I know it happens all the time, but it's both dangerous and against the spirit of the sport. UCI should really do something about this nonsense!
