In Sept., Librarians from across the U.S. gathered in Albuquerque at the Association for Rural & Small Libraries Conference to learn web archiving, oral histories, community scanning, & strategies to capture local news, blogs, & digital history before it’s lost.

True story...

So, a local #library (in a rural area) I used to work for decided to just eliminate their #DVDs a few years back. "Oh, all the patrons have #streaming now," the director said. "Um, then why do a lot of our patrons use our computers and regularly take out DVDs?" I replied, after taking a look at the library statistics. I ended up "adopting" a lot of the DVDs, and now that there's a new director, I'm thinking I might donate my collection (which is quite extensive, since I've added to it) back to them, and start volunteering there again.
