  1. "In 2023, 60 per cent of Australians rejected a constitutionally recognised Voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. A body that could only make representations, only on matters concerning the people whose ancestors have been here sixty thousand years.
"Too much, the No campaign shrieked. Division. Privilege. Special treatment.
"Nine months later, Anthony Albanese handed Jillian Segal what the Voice never dreamed of asking for. Not a right to be heard. Power. No election. No parliamentary vote. No hearing. A three year commission reporting personally to the Prime Minister, with a mandate reaching into every campus, newsroom, classroom, gallery, charity, arts contract and visa file in the Commonwealth."

  2. The royal commission is about one group of gentiles feeing like they did something and another feeling aggrieved by the Jews. Like holocaust museums, antisemitism trainings, etc.

Will we ever stop begging for love?

"For a long time I assumed #Australia’s greatest challenge was recognising #antisemitism.

I’m no longer convinced that is the problem.

    I think we recognise it.

What we struggle with is allowing it to stand on its own. We seem uncomfortable confronting antisemitism without immediately searching for context, qualification, or another way of understanding it. If that’s true, then acknowledging the problem is only the beginning. We also have to ask ourselves why we are so reluctant simply to accept what #Jewish #Australians are telling us.

Perhaps that is what the #RoyalCommission is really revealing.

Not only the experiences of the Jewish community, but the habits of a society that still finds it easier to debate those experiences than to sit with them."

  3. There are lessons here for Australians.
“There will be no explicit agreement needed,” she goes on, “but gradually, people will avoid that one word that is deemed ‘problematic’. It is the word genocide in Germany today; in other countries, it will be other words.”

Australian anti-discrimination laws do an adequate job and may be changed to include any arising issues on hatred, racism, and other form of discriminations against *Others* not already covered in the legislation. I do not see why special ‘guidelines’, ‘definitions’, and other bespoke rules and regs need to exist and be used solely concerning the Jewish people. The Muslim people do not attract such consideration, nor do Buddhists or Taoists, ect.

All of this aweful *noise* and *divisive* agitation serves to identify the #Israeli govt’s hand in the deliberate conflation of legitimate opposition to the #Genocide and #Apartheid policies of the #Netanyahu govt and the unlawful (according to current legislation) cases of #AntiSemitism.

This complete mess is a direct consequence of the #AlboPM govt lack of leadership and complete surrender to powerful pro-Israel Lobbies. The good PM should take a leaf out of the JCA’s book and stand by his personal convictions (which I am certain are not anti semitic in nature).

  5. Foreign influence in Australia

"The reach [of the Israel lobby] extends into the newsrooms and it has been there for decades. Veteran ABC journalist John Lyons documented it in his 2021 book Dateline Jerusalem, writing that in forty years of journalism he had never encountered a lobby as formidable, well-funded, or relentlessly effective as the pro-Israel lobby in Australia, and that material the lobby succeeded in suppressing here was routinely published in Israel without consequence or controversy."
