Each #Ropucha class landing ship costs around US$.7Bn. Damage to the ship has not yet been assessed, but it can't be good.

Curio. The Olshansky was transferred to #Ukraine during the Soviet Union break up,and stolen back during the 2014 invasion of Crimea.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Ukraine has hit another russian #Ropucha landing ship, the "Konstantin Olshansky" (Projekt 775-II, hull 402) with a "Neptun" anti ship missile, the same type that took the Moskva down.

It's a BAD time to be a russian sailor, guys.

Sister ship of the Novocherkassk and Minsk, the Caesar Kunikov damaged and reportedly sunk.

Just Yamal and Azov left of the Ropucha class ships in the Black Sea Fleet. Couple more active in the Pacific, Northern and Baltic fleets. This class is important for its troop and equipment carrying capacity as a logistical vessel, particularly for russian ability to supply (or evacuate) Crimea.
