Six and a half years after the G20 summit in Hamburg, the public prosecutor's office still has a strong will to prosecute and wants prison sentences - for marching in a demonstration that resulted in massive police violence and numerous injuries. A demonstration march with around 200 participants had left the protest camp in Altona early in the morning. On the way to the blockade actions, the demonstration was brutally attacked and broken up by the police in Rondenbarg street without warning.

In the so-called Rondenbarg trial, the trial against six of the 85 people involved begins on 18 January 2024 in Hamburg and is scheduled to last until August. The public prosecutor's office is not accusing the defendants of committing any offences themselves, but is instead referring to "psychological aiding and abetting". With the help of the construct of the "joint offence", a conviction without concrete individual criminal evidence is being targeted.
